Helyesbítés és további Adium Metal

Ordas hülyeséget írtam, amit a kedvesolvasó szerencsére nem vett észre, viszont most lerántom róla a leplet. Hagytam, hogy a kis szkrínsotok és az ikon megzavarjanak és az Adium Metal felületét dizájnos világosszürkének (becses nevén: burnt unified, ez ha minden igaz, már nem tévedés) néztem, pedig jó kis oldszkúl brushed metal. Ami inkább, nos, “a műfaj kedvelőinek” ajánlható.

Külön jó sztori, hogy a nem támogatott, de élni hagyott friendly fork kapott fórumnyitási lehetőséget a cocoaforge-on, a hivatalos Adium fórumon belül. Szoktam lelkesedni a mac fejlesztői közösségek megléte és működése miatt, aki már olvasott ilyet tőlem, az nyugodtan képzelje ide azt a szöveget.

Good developers know when to make a choice, and settling on a good (otherwise known as a “sane”) default is one of those choices for a lot of things. Here are the interfaces (probably more actually, but this is just an example) that a developer has choices from:

1) aqua 2) brushed 3) unified 4) burnt unified 5) garage band 6) iphoto brushed 7) itunes 4 brushed imovie brushed 9) pro interface 10) the HUD 11) a custom style

Choosing one and moving on is what any sane developer does. Having a pref to switch between any of these is a really bad idea. Here is why:

1) Recognition. Some users get confused and don’t know what app they are looking at in a screen shot. 2) Have you actually looked at a good Brushed app, and compared it to a good Aqua app? Brushed has thicker borders, it almost requires it. It’s also heavier. Brushed windows can be dragged by their borders, so they behave differently. 3) Brushed windows just don’t look like they are in the background when they are in the background. An application would have to compensate for that.
